Buna Sa’at
A collective frame for Belonging
Inspired by the Ethiopian Coffee Ceremony, or Buna Sa'at, where families and community members gather, wisdom is shared, and conversation is never rushed.
The ceremony moves through three rounds, each one deepening what came before:
Abol, the first round. A pause. An invitation to slow down and simply arrive.
Tona, the second round. The surface starts to give way. Real conversation begins.
Baraka, the third and final round, the blessing. Belonging isn't just spoken here. It's felt.
That's the pace this collective experience is rooted in. These reflections on culture, people, and organizational life are built for deliberate thinking, grounded insight, and the kind of dialogue that only happens when we let ourselves go past the surface.
This same rhythm shapes how we design and curate team building and culture work: never rushed, always moving from arrival, to honest conversation and movement to genuine belonging.
